The Multani Caravanserai

The Great Silk Road connecting Europe and eastern countries left a “memory" of caravanserais on its entire length. These are - one-storey buildings, and sometimes palaces with a defensive purpose, which had been a haven for trade caravans.

One example of then is the Multani caravanserai, in the territory of the Inner City "Icheri Sheher", built in the XV century for the Indian merchants coming from Multan (now - the territory of Pakistan). Here merchants were resting in their long journey with their long caravans finding here all they need.
