1. Annenfeld and Helenendorf

Annenfeld and Helenendorf

The story is that in the early 19th century, the Russian emperor signed the petition of 700 Swabian families (Swabia - a historical region in the south-west of Germany) on the relocation to the South Caucasus. So people arrived in Transcaucasia based 6 settlements in Georgia and 2 (Annenfeld and Helenendorf) in Azerbaijan.

The settlements were named after the daughters of the Russian Emperor Paul I - Princesses Anne and Helen. Further there were built schools, church and all that you will see with your own eyes, including the architecture of the old houses and public buildings of colonists-immigrants.
